E-mail Setup - Microsoft Outlook Express 5.x


Note: Because of the 10MB mailbox limit, you must complete the following steps to prevent your mail from being blocked or deleted.

  • From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
  • Select the Mail tab and click on mail.yourdomainname.com (where yourdomainname.com is the domain from your email address, i.e. someone@planetonline.com has a domain of planetonline.com)
  • Click on Properties and select Advanced.
  • Under the Deliver section, ensure that the Leave a copy of messages on server box is unchecked.
  • Click OK to save.
MS Outlook Express 5.x Configuration
  1. Open Outlook Express.
  1. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
  1. Click on the Add button and select Mail.
  1. In the Display name text box, type your name.
  2. Click Next.
  1. Check the circle next to I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use.
  2. In the E-mail address text box, type your e-mail address.
    For example:  your email address
  3. Click Next.
  1. From the My incoming mail server is drop-down menu, select POP3.
  2. In the Incoming mail server box, enter mail.yourdomainname.com (remember to replace yourdomainname.com with the domain of your email address).
  3. In the Outgoing mail server box, enter msmtp.internetive.net if you are an Internetive dial-up customer. If you are an Internetive DSL or Dedicated Access customer, then you should enter mail.yourdomainname.com (remember to replace yourdomainname.com with the domain of your email address). If Internetive is only your email provider, then you must get this setting from your current Internet Service Provider.
  4. Click Next.
  1. In the Account name box, type your email address.
    Note: your email address must all be lower case.
  2. In the Password box, type your password.
    Note: your password is case-sensitive.
  3. If you want to have your password saved, so that you don't have to type it when checking e-mail, place a check in the Remember password box.
  4. Click Next.
  1. Click on the Finish button to save your settings.
