E-mail Setup - Netscape Messenger 4.7

Note: Because of the 10MB mailbox limit, you must complete the following steps to prevent your mail from being blocked or deleted.

• From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
• Click on Mail and News and select Mail servers.
• Select mail.yourdomainname.com (where yourdomainname.com is the domain from your email address, i.e. someone@planetonline.com has a domain of planetonline.com) and click Edit.
• Select the POP tab and ensure that the Leave mail on server box is unchecked.
• Click OK to save.

1. Open Netscape Messenger.

2. From Edit menu select Preferences.

3. Click the + next to Mail & Groups and select Identity.

4. In the Your Name text box, type your name.
5. In the Your Email text box, type your e-mail address.
   For example: someone@planetonline.com

6. Under Mail & Groups, select Mail Server.

7. Under Incoming Mail Servers, click once on Mail to highlight it.
8. Click on the Edit button.

9. In the Server Name text box, enter mail.yourdomainname.com (where yourdomainname.com is the domain from your email address, i.e. someone@planetonline.com has a domain of planetonline.com).
10. In the Server Type text box, select POP3 Server.
11. In the User Name text box, type in your email address.
12. Select the POP tab.

13. Ensure that Leave messages on server is NOT checked.
14. Click OK.

15. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server text box, enter msmtp.internetive.net if you are an Internetive dial-up customer. If you are an Internetive DSL or Dedicated Access customer, then you should enter mail.yourdomainname.com (remember to replace yourdomainname.com with the domain of your email address). If Internetive is only your email provider, then you must get this setting from your current Internet Service Provider.
16. In the Outgoing mail server user name text box, type in your email address.
17. Under Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or TLS for outgoing messages,
    select Never.
18. Click OK to exit.
